Güngör Taner

He was born in İstanbul, 1941. Graduated from the State Academy of Fine Arts-Nurullah Berk
Studio, İstanbul. Then he worked with Corneille at the International Salzburg Summer Academy, 1971. He had lots of personal exhibitions and won 8 awards. Now he is an instructor at the Mimar Sinan University. The activation of the 1970s generation gave him inspiration in his paintings.
I like his paintings because, first their colors look so attractive. He uses reverse colors together, he paints bright yellow on to black. And this makes us feel the sharpness of his paintings. Although these paintings are abstract they look so active! I love the colors that he uses!

copying Van Gogh
March 17, 2009

I made this copy of the Hat and Pipe by Van Gogh about three years ago. I used pastels for painting. Van Gogh had a technique which is about dark and bright colors. He used dark colors for the background and bright colors for the object and also he did not lost the dept and the freshness of the objects and the colors.
