Devrim Erbil is a Turkish artist and instructor. He was born in 1937 in Uşak. He was Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu’s student. In 1962 he started to work as a asistant at the Academy (today’s Mimar Sinan University). In 2004 he retired from MSU and now he is dean of the Faculty of Art and Design in Doğuş University.

In these paintings he represents Istanbul with its history such as its mosques,  Haydarpaşa Limanı etc.

And i recommend to visit his web site because i think it has really good design!

He was born in İstanbul, 1941. Graduated from the State Academy of Fine Arts-Nurullah Berk
Studio, İstanbul. Then he worked with Corneille at the International Salzburg Summer Academy, 1971. He had lots of personal exhibitions and won 8 awards. Now he is an  instructor
at the Mimar Sinan University. The activation of the 1970s generation gave him inspiration in his paintings.
I like his paintings because, first their colors look so attractive. He uses reverse colors together,  he paints bright yellow on to black. And this makes us feel the sharpness of his paintings. Although these paintings are abstract they look so active! I love the colors that he uses!
